Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Lapsa, the subscription tracker made by ZypiqLabs in Karachi, Pakistan, in its Android app and on the web. By creating an account you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed.

The service

Lapsa lets you record your subscriptions and free trials, works out when each one renews and the last day you can cancel it, totals what you spend, and reminds you on your phone, by email and by push. Lapsa is free to use today. If paid features are ever added, they will be clearly marked, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.

Your account

Use an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what happens in your account. An account is for one person. You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to create one.

Reminders help; they do not guarantee

Lapsa does its best to warn you in time and sends each reminder three ways so that one failing does not mean silence. Still, a reminder can be delayed or blocked by things outside our control: phone battery and notification settings, a lost connection, an email filter, or a provider outage. Lapsa works from what you enter, so a wrong date or notice period gives a wrong reminder.

Lapsa does not cancel subscriptions for you and does not contact your providers.Cancelling, and checking each provider's own terms and notice period, remains your responsibility. Lapsa is an aid for that, and not financial, legal or tax advice.

Using Lapsa fairly

Please do not:

  • try to reach another person's account or data;
  • overload, probe or disrupt the service or its servers, or get around its limits;
  • create accounts automatically, or resell or rebrand the service;
  • use Lapsa to store anything unlawful.

Your data stays yours

What you enter belongs to you. You let us store and process it only to run Lapsa for you, as the privacy policy describes. You can export it whenever you like and delete it, with your account, at any time.

Messages from Lapsa

Besides your reminders, Lapsa may send occasional announcements about the service itself, such as a new feature or a change to these terms. You can turn push off, or mute "News and updates" in your phone's notification settings.

Changes and availability

Lapsa is provided as it is and as available. We improve it, and may change or remove features; where a change takes something away that you rely on, we will try to say so in advance. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. You can stop using Lapsa and delete your account whenever you want.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, ZypiqLabs is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for charges, fees or penalties from a provider you meant to cancel, including when a reminder arrived late or not at all. Our total liability to you for anything connected with Lapsa is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if that is more. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Karachi have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it applies. Continuing to use Lapsa after that means you accept the new terms.
